Shure and Tectonic Audio Labs are redefining conference room audio in new collaboration

TechNexus portfolio company Tectonic Audio Labs partnered with audio industry giant Shure to launch the Microflex Loudspeaker. The collaboration showcases the transformative potential of Tectonic's Balanced Mode Radiator technology in enterprise conference room audio.

Tectonic , an audio technology firm and TechNexus Venture Collaborative portfolio company, is making waves with its recent collaboration with audio industry giant Shure. This partnership, highlighted by the launch of the Shure Microflex® Loudspeaker , marks a milestone in Tectonic’s growth story and showcases the transformative potential of its Balance Mode Radiator (BMR) technology. Shure, a TechNexus corporate partner, has long been a leader in professional audio, known for its high-quality microphones. As Shure sought to diversify and strengthen its product portfolio, venturing into installed speakers became a core strategic priority to enhance the in-room audio experience. This is where partnering with technology ventures, like Tectonic’s innovative approach to physical acoustics aligned perfectly with Shure’s ambitions. "Tectonic’s BMR technology enables ceiling speakers for professional applications to deliver superior speech intelligibility, even sound coverage, and the ability to replace multiple traditional speakers with just one unit," said Tectonic CEO Fuat Koro. TechNexus’s approach to corporate venture capital bridges the gap between corporate strategy and startup innovation, facilitating partnerships like the one between Tectonic and Shure to accelerate industry transformation. This collaborative approach led to a fruitful commercial relationship, with Tectonic collaborating with Shure’s engineering team of experts over the past several years. "Shure will turn 100 years old as an organization in April 2025. One of the keys to the longevity and vitality of the company is to always be on the lookout for new and better ways to provide value to our customers,” said Brian Woodland, Shure’s vice president of corporate development. “The Tectonic BMR technology is a great example of innovation for installed loudspeakers as it provides a number of benefits for the meeting room space: enhanced speech intelligibility, wide audio dispersion for complete room cover
